BURIED ON CALNAN FARM IN TOWN OF LINCOLN
BETSINGER JOHN. Vet. Rev. War. Died Canajoharie, NY. Mar 16, 1854.
Note: This cemetery is shown on the Town Highway Map and is 0.6 miles north of the intersection of Forbes Road and
Seeber Road on the right hand side. The inscription reads
JOHN BETSINGER
Died May 29 1848
Aged 28 Years.
The stone is just off the road on the present Olden home. The stone is damaged but in good shape for its age.
BURIED ON CHAS. ARGENSINGER FARM IN TOWN OF LINCOLN.
SAYLES WILLIAM. 1740-Feb. 19, 1832.
Sayles Anna. Wife. 1740-Sept. 1, 1836.
BURIED ON BURTON SNELL FARM IN TOWN OF LINCOLN.
BULL AME. 1775-Dec 2, 1834.
She was buried in what was known as the Cotton family cemetery.
Most of the bodies were moved to Mount Pleasant Cemetery at
Canastota. This is the only stone remaining.
BURIED ON THE THOMAS HOYT FARM IN TOWN OF LINCOLN.
GORDON ATWELL N. 1824-July 1827. Son of David & Elsie Watson Gordon.
This was the 1st burial place in the Town and known as the Forbes
Cemetery. All the stones have been destroyed or buried.
BURIED ON THE HOLDRIDGE FARM IN TOWN OF LINCOLN.
CARPENTER, MERRIT. Died Aug 17, 1820 aged 29.
Carpenter Cornelia Melius. Wife. 1791-Nov 5, 1831.
CARPENTER WILLIAM. Son of Willard. Died Feb 17, 1844 aged 16.

John Allen and John Harp died in spring of 1810 and were buried without headstones in the little cemetery on the
Beecher farm located on Lot No. 1.
In a description of Lot No. 16 Tuttle writes, "The first cemetery in this purchase was located in the orchard on
the present Hoyt farm. The cemetery at Clockville was set aside by the state in 1803 for a poor burying ground and was
reserved as such when Col. Chapman bought the land on the southeast corner of lot 11 in 1813. About 1830 an addition
was made to the Clockville cemetery and lots laid out in regular order. Soon after this the cemetry in the Forbes farm was
abandoned. Those who were able had their relatives who lay in the Forbes cemetery moved to Clockville. The stones
have in times past been removed and no trace of the burial place remains. I have been able to find one stone that marked
a grave there. That of Atwell N., son of David and Elsie Gordon, born 183, died July 16, 1827."
